I did not post these pictures to judge these women. I posted these pictures to show how far our society has gone from a culture of modesty. Yes, in every time period there were those that went against the norm, but this is a brief look into the cultural acceptance of more skin. What is our world saying about the value of the female body? Is it worth honoring anymore?
I read that when the bikini was first invented, the designer had to hire a nude dancer to wear it, because he could not find a model who would wear his skimpy design. Now, it’s rare to even see a one-piece bathing suit on TV, in movies, and in pageants.
Modesty is on the rise again, and there are more young people standing up to say that less is not always best. I will be interviewing several young people, men, women, working professionals, etc. on their views on modesty and its place in the 21st century.
